Breeder FAQ
Below are questions that are frequently asked about us and our dogs & puppies: Are the puppies registered? All puppies are AKC registered. What is LIMITED registration? The puppy is being sold at pet price and is not to be used for breeding. If the buyer tries to register any offspring from this puppy, AKC will deny registration. Can I buy a puppy with full AKC registration? We sell very few puppies with full registration. The cost would be much higher. Why do full registration puppies cost more? Because you are paying for the right to use the breed lines I have acquired. A breeder pays good sums of money to purchase good champion lines. Are the ears of the Miniature Schnauzers natural or cropped? My puppies’ ears are NATURAL Do I show my dogs? No, I have dabbled in showing years back but find it to be rather political but I still breed for the standard. Do you breed related dogs? We do not breed closely related dogs. We prefer out-crossing which provides for better immune systems. At what age do puppies go home? At 8 weeks of age. How long have you been breeding dogs? For over 30 years. Are puppies raised in the home or a kennel? Our puppies are raised in a part of our home and get a lot of socialization and become accustomed to many noises. Do the puppies you sell have any guarantees? Our puppies come with a one year guarantee for replacement if the puppy is found to have a congenital defect within the first year. Please see contract for details. What is a Micro Chip? It is a permanent form of identification. It is about the size of a grain of rice that is implanted under the skin of your puppy. AKC requires a micro chip or a tattoo. Do you ship your puppies? Yes, if necessary, and in accordance with airline requirements, at the extra expense of the buyer. We only ship in the US. How does the deposit work? We accepts deposits throughout the year as we have dogs breeding throughout the year. The deposit puts you in line for the sex and color puppy you are looking for. This deposit is applied to the total cost of the puppy and is NOT refundable. Should your request not become readily available, you have the option of waiting or accepting another selection. Make deposit checks payable to Carl Senser Do you pay for the spaying or neutering? No, once you purchase the puppy it is your responsibility. It has been found that neutering and spaying at a very young age predisposes the dog for health problems. This practice has been pretty much stopped. A good age is about 5-6 months to alter your pet. Can I come and see your dogs & facility? Yes, we encourage this. Our dogs speak for themselves. Please call for an appointment time. Can you provide me with references from past customers? Yes
